Join Sbangle's Gold Ribbon Campaign and get ready to Go Gold in honor of pediatric cancer awareness and to raise funds for The Ty Louis Campbell Foundation.

10% of the sale of each Gold Ribbon Sbangle will be donated to The Ty Louis Campbell Foundation.

Ty Louis Campbell was born on October 4, 2007- sweet, innocent, and perfect.  Ty was diagnosed with a rare aggressive form of pediatric cancer in 2010 and fought valiantly earning him the nickname Super Ty.

Ty passed away in the loving arms of his parents on October 17, 2012. He is survived by his brother, Gavin, and parents Cindy and Lou who have established The Ty Louis Campbell Foundation in his honor to raise awareness about pediatric cancer as awareness is what attracts the necessary funds for research that will enable the prevention of and cure of this horrible monster known as pediatric cancer.

The Ty Louis Campbell Foundation “is a nonprofit organization, certified 501©(3), that funds innovative research and clinical trials specifically geared toward the treatment of the deadliest childhood cancers (including brain and spinal cord tumors).”  The Foundation “seeks less toxic, more effective treatments that are specifically designed for children fighting cancer.”  Their mission is “to help fund the intelligence and technology that will uncover new ways to cure children with cancer.”  Read more about The Ty Louis Campbell Foundation, subscribe to Cindy’s blog, and stay tuned for the launch of their The Muddy Puddle Project this Spring 2013!

Sbangle Supports The Corinne Feller Memorial Fund for Ovarian Cancer Awareness

Sbangle is proud to announce that 10% of all Teal Ribbon Sbangle sales go to The Corinne Feller Memorial Fund whose mission is to raise awareness of and funds for the prevention, early detection, and cure of ovarian cancer.

Corinne Feller was a scholar athlete who resided in Montgomery, New York her whole life.  Corinne battled ovarian cancer for 10 months before succumbing to the disease at the young age of 18 in 1999.  Her legacy of generosity, fairness, and social consciousness is the basis of The Corinne Feller Memorial Fund’s mission.  Visit The Corinne Feller Memorial Fund to read more about Corinne’s legacy.

Nicole Feller Lee, Founder of The Corinne Feller Memorial Fund and sister of Corinne, explains, “Corinne stressed the importance of awareness.”  As part of the outreach efforts for awareness, she founded the Cancer Awareness Survivors Team (CAST).

As she explains, “Learning the symptoms of ovarian cancer is vital because early diagnosis greatly increases chances for survival. Currently, almost 70 percent of ovarian cancer patients aren’t diagnosed until the disease is in its advanced stages. Each year, 27 thousand new cases of ovarian cancer are discovered, and more than 14 thousand women die of the disease. There is currently no effective screening tool for ovarian cancer, making awareness critically important.” Read more about CAST here and check out their table at these upcoming health fairs:

Support Parents of Preemies Day: Sunday, March 10th (Graham's Foundation)

2/16/2013

Please support Parents of Preemies Day, a worldwide day of awareness on Sunday, March 10, 2013 produced by Graham's Foundation. Parents of Preemies Day recognizes the courage and commitment it takes to stay strong and resilient when premature birth turns a family's world upside down. Each year, 13 million babies are born prematurely across the globe and though medical breakthroughs continue to improve outcomes for preemies, experts are only now beginning to understand the intense psychological effects that premature birth has on moms and dads.

Here are just some of the ways you can celebrate Parents of Preemie's Day, whether you're a preemie parent or someone who cares about a family with a preemie:

·        Check http://parentsofpreemiesday.org/events.html to find out if there is a March 10th event happening in your area and if so, register. It's going to be a great time!

·        Share your family's story on the Parents of Preemies Day Facebook page.

·        Connect with other parents of preemies at the #ParentsofPreemiesDay Twitter chat on Sunday, March 10, from 2-3 p.m. EST. Jump into the conversation in the official Parents of Preemies Day tweet chat (use hashtag #ParentsofPreemiesDay) to talk about how moms and dads can celebrate being parents of preemies.

·        Bloggers, visit the Parents of Preemies Day website and grab a badge for your sidebar – then create a Parents of Preemies Day post to tell the world why you're proud to be a preemie mom or dad.

·        Visit the Parents of Preemies Day website for ideas about what you can do to support moms and dads of preemies.

Graham's Foundation is a non-profit organization that comforts and empowers these parents, who often battle with depression and PTSD as a result of their experiences. A snapshot of what we do includes sending free care packages to moms and dads of preemies, creating educational materials, and overseeing a thriving online community that gives parents a place to connect, share stories, ask questions, and find support. Its overall mission is focused on supporting families of premature babies at all stages – birth, in the NICU, during the transition home, and early childhood. You can read more about Graham's story here. Please visit their site, Like Graham's Foundation on Facebook, and consider supporting their efforts by donating here.
